GIZ Jordan’s Water Sector Governance Project officially kicked off the WEFE Nexus Governance Framework technical consultancy package on 11 December in Amman, working with a consortium of national and international consultants to enhance integrated and sustainable management of water, energy, food, and the environment in Jordan.
The project focuses on developing a shared WEFE Nexus strategy and governance framework, including common KPIs and practical decision-support and monitoring tools. Its ultimate objective is to strengthen coordination across sectors and support evidence-based decisions aligned with Jordan’s Economic Modernisation Vision.
The kick-off meeting was hosted by The Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (Jordan), with strong engagement the Ministry of Water and Irrigation (MWI), Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources-Jordan (MEMR), Ministry of Agriculture, Jordan (MoA), and Ministry of Environment (MoEnv).
The WEFE Nexus Governance Framework Project is implemented by GIZ Jordan on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), in close cooperation with WEE Pros, Royal Scientific Society and Luvent Consulting GmbH - A Chemonics Company.
