WSG MOU

Strategic partnership to strengthen international project work and vocational education worldwide

At the education trade fair Didacta, WorldSkills Germany and the international development consulting firm WEE Pros signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration aimed at advancing WorldSkills Germany's engagement in the international development sector.

WEE Pros as Project Management Partner
WEE Pros brings approximately 15 years of experience working with international donors such as GIZ, German Development Cooperation, French Development Cooperation, Swedish Development Cooperation, European Commission, UN organizations, US Government, the World Bank, and other Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs). The company specializes in the sectors of water, energy, environment, and green growth. This expertise is set to benefit WorldSkills Germany: WEE Pros will act as a project management unit going forward, supporting the acquisition and implementation of international projects.

"With WEE Pros, we have found a partner who truly understands how international project business works," says Hubert Romer, Managing Director of WorldSkills Germany, adding: "WorldSkills Germany has the content, the methodology, and the networks — WEE Pros brings the structures and experience we need to take our work to the next level. This partnership is an important step toward establishing the WorldSkills movement in more countries."

Rüdiger Heidebrecht of WorldSkills Germany clearly identifies the key added value of the cooperation: "Every donor has a different format and different terminology. We need people who professionally know how to engage with international donors." He continues: "WorldSkills is an international organization — but international projects to support other countries require solid project management structures and the corresponding skills."

Focus on Trainer Development and WorldSkills Culture
A central goal of the partnership is to establish the WorldSkills culture in more countries. Specifically, WEE Pros is currently supporting Pakistan in reactivating its membership with WorldSkills International — through the training of local coaches and the development of national teams.

Dr.-Ing. Mustafa Nasereddin, Managing Director and co-founder of WEE Pros, describes the aim of the joint work: "We will support WorldSkills Germany by acting as a project management unit for them and accompanying them in the implementation of international projects to expand the WorldSkills culture in various countries."

For Nasereddin, this is not just about structures, but about a genuine philosophy of learning: "Learning by competition — that is truly a great way to build capacities. It is not the conventional way of training; rather, it combines teamwork, passion, competition with others, and learning from peers. It is a complete recipe for sustainable vocational training."

"Water Technology" on Its Way to Becoming an Established Discipline
Nasereddin will also serve as Workshop Manager at EuroSkills 2027 in Düsseldorf. The discipline "Water Technology" will be represented there for the first time as a guest discipline — for him, a promising start: "Although 'Water Technology' has not previously been an official discipline at EuroSkills, it is now a guest discipline — but I know it is only the beginning. It will be a truly big show."

Heidebrecht adds with a view to the bigger picture: "It is really about bringing WorldSkills Germany into the development sector." The topics WEE Pros has been working on for years — sustainability, environmental and social management, green economy — are directly linked to the competencies that WorldSkills promotes: "All of these aspects are truly connected to green employment as well."

Before Düsseldorf takes center stage in 2027 as the European platform for vocational excellence at EuroSkills, WorldSkills in Shanghai is first on the agenda in September 2026. Nasereddin: "I wish all participants in Shanghai the best of luck — and look forward to experiencing the same in Düsseldorf in 2027."
