WEE Pros GmbH successfully organized and facilitated a five-day Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Innovation Study Tour in Germany from 12 to 16 October 2026, under the GIZ project Strengthening of Sustainable Livelihoods in Rural Areas III (LHP III).
The study tour brought together representatives of the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture and leading German institutions to exchange knowledge, explore innovative agricultural practices, and strengthen capacities in sustainable rural development.
The programme combined institutional meetings, technical discussions, and practical field visits, covering key topics including agricultural advisory services, climate-smart agriculture, cooperative development, rural business resilience, and sustainable agricultural value chains.
Participants engaged with several prominent German organizations, including the Chamber of Agriculture of North Rhine-Westphalia, the University of Bonn, the Global Crop Diversity Trust, the German Cooperative and Raiffeisen Confederation (DGRV), DLR Projektträger, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Andreas Hermes Akademie, and the Center for Development Research (ZEF). Field visits to community-supported agriculture initiatives and private agricultural enterprises provided additional insights into sustainable production and market-oriented business models.
The study tour offered an opportunity to explore practical approaches and institutional models that could be adapted to the Palestinian agricultural context, particularly in strengthening agricultural extension services, supporting rural enterprises, and improving resilience to environmental and economic challenges.
WEE Pros extends its appreciation to GIZ, the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture, and all participating German institutions for their valuable cooperation and contributions.
Through initiatives such as this study tour, WEE Pros continues to support international knowledge exchange, institutional capacity development, and practical solutions for sustainable agriculture and rural livelihoods.
