Palestinian Territories
The Palestinian Water Authority (PWA) held a key workshop mid October 2025 at its headquarters in Ramallah to discuss the newly completed report on the training system in the Palestinian water sector. The initiative is funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) and implemented by WEE Pros in partnership with the International Office for Water (OiEau).
During the session, the consulting team presented their findings, which included an in-depth analysis of the current state of water service providers and training institutions in Palestine. The presentation also outlined the sector’s training needs and offered a forward-looking vision to develop a sustainable training system. Key areas of focus included the legal framework, governance, financial sustainability, and institutional development.
The workshop is part of ongoing efforts to establish a long-term, integrated training system that supports the capacity development of professionals across the water sector. Strengthening human resources is seen as a cornerstone for ensuring the sustainability and efficiency of service providers. The event brought together representatives from the Palestinian Water Authority, service providers, the Water Sector Regulatory Council, several ministries, and international development partners.
